“If prayer is you talking to God, then intuition is God talking to you.” ~Dr. Wayne Dyer
I love my intuition. Admittedly, I don’t always listen to it, but when I do, I am always grateful for the information I receive. I use my intuition throughout my day–in figuring out where to drive to avoid traffic, which piece of fruit to pick, which decision to make, and even how to best deal with my children.
Intuition, I believe, comes from multiple sources:
- Our Body: our physical body carries memories and awareness, so tapping into it can provide valuable information.
- Our Heart: our emotional heart holds information about our histories, our emotional connection to others, and emotional awareness.
- Our Soul: our soul is connected to the universe and God; we can receive information via intuition about our purpose, life direction, and other issues regarding our lives and relationships.
- Spirit Helpers: we can tap into the knowledge and wisdom of our Spirit Guides, Angels, Archangels, and deceased loved ones.
Although seemingly separate, the information from all these sources is connected and intertwined. I like to remember that regardless of the source, the information I am receiving is to help me.
A good way to tap into your intuition is to:
First, find a quiet space and close your eyes. Take 3 deep breaths while exhaling out stress and racing thoughts.
Second, ask for the area around you to be cleared of any negative energy and imagine white light around you.
Third, imagine your third eye (the spot on your forehead slightly above the center of your eyebrows) opening as you open an eyelid and your crown chakra (the area on the top of your head) opening as a flower opens as it blooms.
Next, ask for clear and accurate information for the Highest Good and of the Highest Vibration. Allow yourself to relax and take more breaths if you need to re-focus. Wait for information to come to you (through body sensations, emotional knowing, a clear thought, a voice inside or outside yourself, a vision in form of images or letters/numbers, or anything else that seems spontaneous and feels pure).
Finally, close down your third eye and crown chakra when done and express gratitude for the information received.
Practice, trust, play and enjoy the process. You will find a method that works best for you and then you can use your intuition while you are around town with your eyes open (at the store, in your car, at a party, at work, etc.).
My hope is that you will learn that intuition is not only for use by people with “the gift”—all of us have the ability to tap into our intuition and divine knowledge. Children can be encouraged to use their intuition as well. As more people use their intuition and nurture it, I do believe the world will become a more loving, calm, and cooperative place.
Inspired Thought (please respond via comment): Do you use your intuition regularly? How do you use your intuition? What barriers do encounter, if any? In which form do you usually get your intuitive information?
